Hello Subscriber
one of the oldest methods to reduce tampering of energy meters is the sealing. It's only helpful when you check the meter installations regularly. If you don't have an AMI system solution, there is no other choice. An additional request from countries like India is the sealing of optical ports. Does it provide more security?
Take a look and share your ideas.

Optical ports provide local access for service engineers during installation or maintenance of energy meters. Households have physical access to their energy meter and might try to get access to the meter software.

The optical port is for local communication with energy meters. With suitable software and an optical reading head you can access to the meter for reading and writing certain parameters.
