The CL3801 Transformer Capacity & Characteristic Tester is an intelligent on-site testing instrument for distribution transformers. It supports the testing of their energy efficiency levels, and is equipped with such functions as capacity measurement, no-load and short-circuit loss measurement, as well as harmonic analysis, which facilitates the analysis of on-site power grid quality.

Functions

  • Measurement of Load Loss: It automatically calculates the percentage impedance voltage of the transformer, and converts the load loss to the value under rated temperature and rated current.
  • Measurement of No-load Loss: It automatically calculates the no-load loss of the transformer, with the no-load current converted to the value under rated voltage and corrected for waveform distortion.
  • Measurement of Energy Efficiency Level: The instrument can accurately measure and judge the energy efficiency level of 10kV distribution transformers. Corresponding to the energy efficiency levels, it can measure the losses of oil-immersed transformers up to S22 (electrical steel strip) and SH25 (amorphous alloy) types; for dry-type transformers, it can measure the losses up to SCB18 (electrical steel strip) and SCBH19 (amorphous alloy) types.
  • Single-phase Measurement: It can be used to detect single-phase faults in transformers or applied in on-site scenarios where three-phase power supply is unavailable.
  • Measurement of Zero-sequence Impedance
  • This function is applicable to transformers with star connection and neutral point on the high-voltage side. The instrument can record zero-sequence impedance, zero-sequence reactance, zero-sequence inductance, impedance angle and zero-sequence resistance.
  • Measurement of Capacity: It can measure the capacity and judge the model of distribution transformers without any external power supply. Meanwhile, it displays the transformer impedance voltage and the load loss converted to the value under rated temperature and rated current.
  • Direct measurement is achievable within the allowable measurement range of the instrument. For measurements beyond this range, external voltage and current transformers can be connected. The instrument allows setting the transformation ratio of external voltage and current transformers, and directly displays the applied voltage and current values.
  • The instrument is equipped with a harmonic analysis function, which can measure the content rate of multiple harmonics and total harmonic distortion (THD), with the display of original waveforms and histograms.
  • The instrument features a large-screen LCD display.
  • It features compact size and light weight, making it easy to carry and operate.
