Designed for the North American power grid in compliance with IEC / IEEE standards, the CPGV Series is a vertical-structure SSVT that combines voltage transformation with station auxiliary power supply. It directly taps high-voltage transmission lines and steps down voltage to support heavy station loads, while optional metering windings are available. By integrating the functions of a VT and a distribution transformer, it saves substation space, reduces construction costs, and is widely used in 69 kV … 765 kV systems across the U.S.
Core Design for Superior Performance
The iron core is crafted from high-quality cold-rolled silicon steel sheets, cut and laminated with fully automated equipment to ensure consistent electrical characteristics in mass production. With a low design magnetic flux density and a special core structure, the CPGV Series effectively minimizes the risk of ferroresonance.
Precision-Wound Windings
The primary winding is manufactured by fully automatic winding machines for precise control over turns and dimensions. Interlayer insulation uses diamond-dotted adhesive film, and the winding wires are premium enamelled copper wire. After heat curing, the winding achieves excellent electrical characteristics and mechanical strength.
Robust and Leak-Tight Enclosure
The housing is made of welded or cast aluminum alloy. Each unit undergoes strict leakage testing and ultrasonic flaw detection prior to use, ensuring a leakage rate ≤ 0.1% per year.
Flexible Exterior Insulation Options
Choose between silicone rubber composite insulators or high-strength porcelain insulators, with creepage distances tailored to on-site pollution levels for optimal performance in various environments.
Eco-Friendly and Reliable
The interior can be filled with dry air or N2 gas without compromising insulation performance, reducing GWP to zero compared to SF6. The lightweight structure offers excellent seismic performance, simplifying transportation and installation. Prior to delivery, each unit undergoes high-temperature drying to ensure trace moisture levels remain far below both industry standards and customer requirements.
