User Interface Unit Simulator

Note: For this animation we have used JavaScript ECMA2019 technology. The name already suggests the year of introduction. If it doesn't work on your PC, it's likely possible that you need a browser update. Usage with cellphone will be fine. Touchscreen is supported.

By now the UIU/CIU short-codes for STS prepayment meters are not unified. We have collected and merged all recent requests.
A UIU is mainly for end-customer information and for some utility requests I have my doubts. Is the customer really interested in the reactive energy in the second quadrant from two years ago? Check the four quadrant simulation to get a better idea.
Usually utility engineers will read the relevant data by optical port or review them in the AMI system.
In order to come to a standardization I would like to collect all your additional/missing items based on a three-phase meter. Short codes for unsupported items will remain at the same position, but with a ‘not in use' indication.

The working principle

electronic energy meter CL730S22

During loading of this website the UIU is connected to a virtual meter. This meter is in the field since more than two years and holds all related parameters consistent.
We have initially a tamper mode for demonstration purpose. The tamper can be cleared by using the drop-down menu.

Once the tamper is cleared, the meter starts to run. You can input token with an acceptance probability of 30% or review the parameters.

    1. Thank you for your question. It seems like there might be a slight misunderstanding. The power exceed the limit message you're seeing is not actually an error, but rather an indication that your utility has set a maximum load threshold. To clear this message, you'll need to take a few steps.
First, you'll want to reduce the load by disconnecting some devices or redistributing the power among different circuits. This will help ensure that you're operating within the allowed limits.
Next, it's important to press the "Enter" key, which is typically located at the bottom right on your keypad. This will confirm the load reduction and clear the message immediately.
If, for some reason, you forget to press the "Enter" key, don't worry! The power will automatically be restored after approximately 30 minutes once the load has been reduced. However, to speed up the process, it's best to press "Enter" as soon as you've made the necessary load adjustments.

  1. please what code can I use to cut off the power when I'm GOING TO WORK and then put it back on when I return home

    1. While STS prepaid meters do not have such a built-in function, there are alternative methods to achieve a similar result.
One common approach is to utilize a main MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) installed behind the meter. This MCB acts as the main switch to disconnect the power supply to the premises. By manually switching off this MCB when leaving for work and switching it back on upon returning home, the power can be effectively controlled.

  2. Please how do I activate my UIU, because I can't access my unit balance, the engineer that install the meter refuse to activate it for us

    1. CLOU meters follow strictly the STS protocol. There is no provision to switch Off or On.

  3. Please, I noticed the voltage coming into the house from the prepaid meter is very low, I'm getting 112volts .
    Please what is the solution?
Because I'm confused, every other apartment has good supply except mine.

    1. This is a question for your electrician. There is something wrong in your installation. The meter can only measure.

    1. The UIU is a remote connection to the meter display and register information. The meter itself records your consumption. You can save electricity only by reducing your energy consumption.

  4. How do I bypass my prepaid meter without climbing in the pole, or paying for current?

    1. In other words, you want to steal electrical energy? Maybe your power company has some suggestions.
