The user interface unit (UIU) is a device for remote access to STS payment meters.
If meters are mounted in a box or on a pole they can not be accessed for token input. In this case a UIU is necessary for STS operations.
Beside of token transmission the UIU provides various information about meter status and consumption.
Depending on the meter vendor a UIU is also named as CIU (customer interface unit). The basic functions are the same.

May I Know the communication radio frequency range of your customer interface units
Thank you for your question. Our user interface units (UIU) operate within the 433 MHz frequency band. This is a common choice for short-range communications in many wireless control and monitoring applications, due to its relatively long wavelength and ability to penetrate walls and other obstacles more effectively than higher frequency signals.
It's important to note, however, that not all of our UIUs utilize radio frequency communication. Alternative methods of connectivity in our product range include power line communication and RS485, catering to various customer- and installation environments.

It's the nature of all kinds of metering devices used for billing purpose, that they can't be reset or cleared. Even the manufactures have no possibility, once the device is leaving the factory.
